In May, ASK highlighted the exploits of Gaia Vince - the boss's daughter - as she traveled the world reporting on the effects of climate change. Now it seems Gaia's efforts have received the recognition they deserve. She has won The Climate Community's Citizen of the Week award.
The Climate Community, a US website that aims to raise awareness of climate change, gives the awards weekly to inspirational people who are working to combat climate change. Nominations can be made by readers.
"I am very chuffed indeed to have won this award," Gaia wrote on her blog, Wandering Gaia. She is the first international winner of the award.
Dan Cashdan, who runs the site, said the team at The Climate Community had been fans of Gaia's reports and blog for a while. She was given the award, he said, for her commitment to climate change education and bringing issues facing the developing world into the spotlight.
While briefly stationary back in the UK, Gaia has continued writing, eg this article for the Guardian about India's environmental and economic responsibilities in light of its new solar energy plan. Normal wandering resumes on 10th September.
